==== Iron Shiro ==== Being so close to Tatakai poses challenges for Pedaru. The warmongering people routinely launch attacks against the city. While few of these attacks actually reach Pedaru or do any real damage, Ark protects her people. The Saints constructed a fortress known as the Iron Shiro. In times of danger, the people of Pedaru retreat into the Shiro. The fortress itself is thought to be impregnable. With hundreds of magical wards, a mote, and doors made from iron that are over five feet thick, no army thus far has been able to dent the exterior of the Shiro.
