The Ravenous Abyss

An infinite dimension of maddening evil, the Ravenous Abyss is a sentient dimension. Many adventures who travel its layers note a presence within each. Not just a presence but an intelligence. From this darkness comes many cosmic evils like demons. Portals to the Abyss, if left unchecked, will slowly convert other dimensions into a copy of the Abyss. Some scholars have put forward the idea that the Ravenous Abyss which is known is not the first Abyss. Instead the Abyss known by the inhabitants of the Rings is one of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of different Abysses.
