Operation Arrival (/Health) – Knewidi 8th, 715AR (4/28/2024)

STARRING: Andreas (A), Angel (AN),  Bee (B), Claudia (C), Koilos (K), Seth (SE), Storm (S), Talisman (TA), Thomas (T), The Maiden (M), Zetian (ZE), Zey (ZEY), Zolona (Z)... and more?

  • We begin where all great sessions must begin, with a storm. We pick up just outside of the camp, finding Storm and The Maiden walking alone. They have an emerald with them. The rain continues to beat down. The Maiden looks over at you, Storm.
    • “I know why we’re doing this. I still don’t like it.” – M
      • “Yeah. Yeah I get that.” – S
    • “Look, Storm, if something goes wrong– I want you to run. Can you please promise me you can do that?” – M
      • “What do you think I’m gonna do?” – S
    • “Honestly, Storm, I don’t know.” – M
    • The Maiden stops. She asks if this is the right place, and Storm confirms.
    • “So what… now we just hope?” – M
      • “Um. You think she’ll like my wings?” – S
  • Zolona’s voice echos out, “I do like your wings.”
    • She descends from the heavens in her ten-winged angel form.
      • [NOW PLAYING: ELDRITCH WARPING + THUNDERSTORM AMB]
    • “Thank you, Storm.” – Z
      • Storm tells her not to worry about it.
    • “And thank you, Daughter, for coming.” – Z
      • “Hello mother. What is the point of this?” – M
    • “Well. A mother cares about her daughter. I wanted to check up on you. Make sure you were okay. It seems you’re not… Still wearing that ghastly makeup.” – Z
      • The Maiden frowns at this.
    • “It’s okay, it’s grown on me just the slightest bit. But still… after all your work, and all your efforts… you’re left with this.” – Z
      • “I quite like what I have.” – M
    • You watch as Zolona looks over to you and smiles, Storm.
    • “Maybe it is not my place to say… but I think all of you could do a lot better than this right now. Wouldn’t you agree?” – Z
      • “I don’t think it takes a genius to recognize that.” – S
    • Zolona laughs and says this is very true.
    • “Ataxia, what are you doing? Look around. You’ve tried out your little… adventure. You have seen what the High Gods have had to offer. I’m not going to ask–” – Z
      • “I know what you’re going to ask. You’re going to try and manipulate me and Storm. But… [she takes a deep breath] I’m staying with them. And if you want to fight… I’m ready for it.” – M
    • “Ataxia… sweetheart… I love you. I would never want to fight you. I just want you to see what everyone else clearly is. How terrible this place is. The world. Everything. It’s ghastly, appalling, and look at your friends! They will abandon you at every turn. Charons told me all about your adventures.” – Z
      • The Maiden seems to be getting upset, Storm.
    • “Where is Charon?” – M
    • “Safe and sound! More safe than they are with you, to be quite honest. We have much to talk about. But… Storm. I gather that you would not come out here if you did not have a reason. How can we help each other?” – Z
      • “Well… to be honest, I thought this was just, you know, a bit of compensation for everything with Loveday. But, um. I mean, I don’t know how you’re– I take it you want to stomp out the Brigade? If you could do it now you’d have a good time?” – S
    • “I’m not particularly interested in the Brigade.” – Z
      • “Okay. Well, I’m still a little bit interested in the Brigade.” – S
    • “Still? Okay.” – Z
      • “I mean, I think Zetian is… interesting. I’m trying to figure out what it is. But, you know. Dying here isn’t the coolest idea, you know.” – S
    • “Are you wanting to come with me? I would love a dance partner on the regular.” – Z
      • “Yeah, but, you know, don’t you have your Titan King for that?” – S
    • “You know it’s not the same.” – Z
      • “I don’t like the way you said that– I’ll be honest. It makes me uncomfortable.” – S
    • “You’re a good dancer.” – Z
      • “I haven’t done a lot of looking like you told me I should.” – S
    • “It’s fine… I don’t expect much. It’s not your fault, the High Gods create these conditions.” – Z
    • Storm requests some kind of passage into Widowstone. Holding off whatever is coming, holding the storm. She seems to consider this.
      • “Well… without that safe passage I think it wouldn’t really matter. Holding off..? I can reign back many, at least for a time. And grant you safe passage. And I want just one tiny thing. Well… Really two.” – Z
      • [NOW PLAYING: FOREVER AND ALWAYS]
      • “They are meaningless, which is a good thing.” – Z
    • Zolona turns to The Maiden
      • “Daughter… I need you to leave the past behind. Start being reasonable. Take a look at the world around you. At those you call friends. And understand that they don’t care about you. They can’t. They will hurt you. Spite you. And destroy you. Every chance they get. “ – Z
    • “You’re wrong.” – M
      • “I’m not.” – Z
    • “I want you to start fresh, without burdens of the past that weigh upon your heart. Give me your wedding ring. Annul the marriage.” – Z
      • Almost instinctively, one of the Maidens hands goes and touches her simple wedding band. There is a beat.
    • “You promise they’ll be safe…?” – M
    • “Of course. But I need you to acknowledge the truth.” – Z
      • “Not to play Devil's Advocate and undermine what we’re doing here right now, but, I mean… it is okay to think for yourself. Do what you want. Like, safety is great but… I don’t think you should lose yourself over everything. Over this. You’ve done plenty, no one is going to blame you. Most people are probably already mad enough that I’m doing this, when they find out, so.” – S
    • The Maiden looks down at her ring again.
    • “Is a dead High God all that you are? Daughter, don't tell me you’ve fallen this far. Don’t tell me… that you have put everything you are… into a dream that will never happen.” – Z
      • [NOW PLAYING: FOREVER AND NEVERMORE]
    • “She is gone, Ataxia.” – Z
      • “I am not called that anymore.” – M
    • “That’s who you are. Maybe you’ll see that. But this is safety. This is a chance.” – Z
      • Zolona reaches out a hand.
    • “You swear that they’ll be safe? Each and every one of them.” – M
      • “I’ve never lied to you, Daughter. I only want what’s best for you. What’s best for the Rings.” – Z
    • “No. You want revenge.” – M
      • “I want justice. Something the High Gods will never give. They murdered us. Imprisoned us. Broke us. And look what they did to you. Hero? No. Cast aside. It’s what they will do forevermore. Your marriage died long ago, Ataxia.” – Z
    • “You will not touch them. You will not harm them. No tricks–” – M
      • “I am a woman of my word. You will walk and you will enter Widowstone. And you will have time to spare. As I hold back the Impure. Just for you.” – Z
    • Storm, you watch, as with a shaking hand…
      • “Hold on– hold on– let's keep thinking. You came into this, that, she is going to try and manipulate us right? So… It’s hard, right?” – S
    • Zolona asks what else she wants. Storm points out that she wanted two things.
    • “No. More people will die. It’s simple, it’s easy. No strings attached.” – M
      • “Is that…” – S
    • “It’s okay Storm. She knew I couldn’t say no.” – M
      • And The Maiden slips the ring off her finger, and tosses it to her mother.
    • “Now… do you forswear your marriage? Do you annul it? Do you forsake it?” – Z
      • The Maiden opens her mouth, and you hear a harsh croaking noise. Like the words are caught in the mouth. And then… You’re not sure if it’s the rain, or the tears running down her face, but she says…
    • “I forswear it. I let her go.” – M
      • “Good. Twenty four hours, Storm. I give this to you. And if ever you wish to do business again, or just talk… I’m a word away.” – Z
    • And Zolona flares her wings, and flies upward into the sky, cresting through the clouds. You watch as The Maiden collapses.
    • “Let's go home, let’s tell the others. It’s safe now.” – S
    • “I failed all of you… I knew about Althara. I didn’t stop the coming of the Dark Star. I… I killed so many people.” – M
      • “I would argue that Zetian has also done those things–” – S
    • “You don’t GET it Storm! I’ve killed billions. Trillions. And I can’t wash the blood from my hands. No matter what I try. She’s right. I tried. I failed.” – M
      • “The fact that you’re trying to do better… and do right. That at least makes up for something.” – S
    • “Does it?” – M
      • “I think so.” – S
        • “I don’t know.” – M
    • She tries to stand up, but her legs are simply jelly. She collapses back into the mud, water, and rain. Storm puts his helmet on, and helps her up. He suggests they go to break the news.
  • As they walk into camp, at this point there is a full-on active meeting.
    • [NOW PLAYING: DEGENERATIVE HEARTS IN FOUL AIR]
  • All of you see Storm, carrying The Maiden. Ki, you double take, because you just left The Maidens tent. She was there… with you… then you put it together. She put up a duplicate, and teleported out.
    • Ki sighs at this.
    • [NOW PLAYING: YOUR UNIVERSE HAS A HOLE]
  • The Maiden says we have twenty-four hours, the impure will part. We need to go quickly.
  • Andreas says he will inquire further once we get to Widowstone. He asks if she is well enough to walk.
  • Bee asks if there is any way to suggest that they aren’t enemies of the Goblins, Zey says it is probably better to not look like an Impure.
    • He then apologizes to Bee for saying this. But she knows it is true.
  • Bee goes to see if Lavatera and Enola need help with Loveday. They don’t. She asks if they have a spare cloak she can borrow, and Enola hands one over. She then heads out to assist with the nurses to move.
  • Andreas is helping The Maiden. Thomas also stays back to help with her.
    • She feels cold to the touch. Andreas asks if she is cold, but she insists that she is fine. Andreas wraps her up in his cloak. He hopes it helps.
    • “I’m sorry, Andreas.” – M
      • “You don’t have anything to apologize for.” – A
    • She rests her head on his shoulder, and passes out.
  • Seth aims to help his people. They now make up a majority of the people in camp, actually.
  • [NOW PLAYING: SHADOW OVER WIDOWSTONE]
  • Any last minute things before arriving?
    • Bee wraps the cloak around herself.
    • Talis prays for strength and safe passage.
      • SPIRIT CHECK – 5 Successes
      • DM ROLLS A 2
    • What is your prayer, Talisman?
      • “Corania, it has been awhile since we have been in your range… but if you’re listening– I just hope we get through, well, with us still intact. And safe passage for my friends and I.”
    • “Talisman, don’t tell me you’re still babbling on to her.” – ANAHI
      • Anahi comes up behind him, to which he steps away.
    • “She won’t answerrrr! I know ten devils who will though.” – ANAHI
    • “Well.. if you ever wanna talk.” – ANAHI
      • She grows a shard of glass from her forehead, rips it out, and hands it over.
        • “To keep in touch, bestie.” – ANAHI
      • Talisman thanks her and puts it in her pack.
    • Seth asks his Spirit if it thinks they will let us in. If not, we will tear our way in. We’ve come too far. They will not stop us now.
      • “Just say the word, and I’ll attack.” – SE
        • The Spirit is eager for the possibility of attack.
  • Widowstone, massive in the distance. It dwarfs any fortress you’ve seen before, and the army of Impure are greater than all. Greater than any. It is… a testament to war. That is what you’re seeing. Maybe half a million impure? No… much much more than that. Of all different sizes and varieties. Massive. Small. Small as rats. As great as elephants, or giants, or even krakens. It is apocalyptic. All at once as the Brigade makes its way forward, the battle begins to die. Everything goes still. You watch as the Impure begin to make a path, scooting to the side and parting like the Red Sea. They allow you to make your way toward part of the wall. Pressing forward with haste, Aether Souls and distinguished members of the Brigade first.
  • You approach the walls. You begin to notice things falling over the side. It has been so long, Angel, since you’ve seen something truly organic and green. But yes… vines are growing and shooting downward from the battlements. Not a few dozen, but hundreds of beautiful bits of green and vibrant plant life.
  • As you all make your way forward, you see Seth go forward. As you touch a vine, it gently wraps around you and begins to pull you up to the top of the battlement.
    • Do you let it do so?
      • I guess so.
    • Everyone follows. Zey and Bee stay back to assist in civilians going upward.
  • Making the way to the top, the vines are spawning from a central area on top of the wall itself. At the heart of the area in particular, you can see what appears to be a spellcaster. A magic user amongst them. They are a Tiefling, radiating with primordial magic.
    • [NOW PLAYING: FATE IS YOURS]
    • Shannon, describe your character.
      • You can see a red Tiefling with long blue hair, and a somewhat poofy dress with mushrooms growing out of it.
  • Vex (V). You have recently been bringing up the entirety of this new massive group of refugees that have just walked through the Impure army. You are not sure what exactly is going on, but some of them are making their way front and center so… best to figure it out before the commander gets here.
    • “How are you all still alive?” – V
      • Andreas approaches, still holding The Maiden.
    • Vex, your eyes turn to this large, hulking soldier, and the sickest you have ever seen The Maiden. She looks like a child, crumpled in the arms of this individual.
    • “My name is Andreas Wolfgang. We are the Brigade, what remains of it. I… this is The Maiden. She is not doing well.” – A
      • “What happened?” – V
    • “I don’t know– she went out with another one of our members and she came back and can’t walk– she is deathly cold. Brought her here from our camp outside of Widowstone. I don’t know any healing magics but–” – A
      • “We better get her in here.” – V
    • Andreas will go wherever this Tiefling points him.
  • Gathering up and walking together, Lavatera is also with us, along with Mace Crane and Cordell. At this point, Zey, you see a hawk swoop down, make a loop-de-loop– and as they land, they transform into Zetian. He begins to walk with the rest of us like nothing happened.
    • “Oh thank God you’re okay.” – T
      • “Thank which god?” – ZE
    • “Corania.” – T
      • “Ah, yes, a good God! A God you can see!” – ZE
    • Seth asks where it went. It says here and there, popping and prickling, and doing his thing.
    • Zetian says we made good time, and this was very intelligent. It was genius to just walk in.
  • “My name is Vex!” – V
    • [NOW PLAYING: INTRODUCTIONS]
    • “Hello! I am The Zetian.” – ZE
      • “Is your first name ‘The’ or is it a title?” – V
    • “Ah, it’s my middle name! Zetian ‘The’ Archfey!” – ZE
    • “So! How did you find yourself in this absolutely terrible abominable place?” – ZE
      • “Well I felt some power, some weird stuff on the Primordial Ring, so I came here.” – V
    • “This is where the strangeness is? Good good good. I was right. I am usually correct.” – ZE
      • Vex says she is experienced in sieges and decided to stay here, especially since communication to the other Rings was cut off.
    • After noticing The Maiden, “Oh, she’s fucked up!” – ZE
      • “You couldn’t say that any nicer…?” – B
    • “Oh.., she’s fucked up but– her makeup still looks incredible? She has been working out?” – ZE
  • The voice of the Commander (MA) calls out to Vex. He storms toward us. An older looking Hobgoblin, redder than you would usually expect, begins to march forward.
    • “What is the meaning of this? Who are these people?” – MA
      • “They are… the Brigade!” – V
    • “We’ve heard tales of other refugees, a group who tried to fight Althara. That you guys?” – MA
    • He says our numbers are better than most. He asks how we got here, Tpres is a long way away. Andreas says we have been traveling for months.
    • “I am Commander Makai Stones. Head Commander of Widowstone Keep and now current leader of the Mithril Hands.” – MA
    • He asks how we got here, but Andreas isn’t sure of that himself. We will ask The Maiden eventually. We will have to get her better soon.
    • He offers to show us around. It is a large area, but…
  • As all of this is going on, Ki.
    • [NOW PLAYING: GRAY FOG]
    • All of a sudden, Claudia grips you so tightly you think your bones might snap. She begins to breathe in very very deeply, and her eyes become bloodshot.
      • “It’s wrong– we have to go. We have to go. We have to run.” – C
      • “What is wrong? What?” – K
      • “He… he– He’s here.” – C
      • [NOW PLAYING: CRIMSON STORM]
    • “Vex… darling… you should have told me we had guests.” – R
      • All of you can see a man, pale white skin, large hat, well tailored suit. He makes his way down from one of the battlements.
    • “Ah… Claudia. My darling… You survived.” – R
    • Ki… This creature smiles, as the fangs are revealed.
      • “I don’t know who you are.” – K
    • “Ohhh.. my apologies.” – R
      • He takes off his hat, and does a sweeping bow.
    • “Lord Radavon Raze. You may also know me as The Umber Prince. Pleased to make your acquaintance.” – R
      • Bee and Ki scoot in front of Claudia.
    • “Do not worry… I do not damage my own.” – R
      • “From the looks of it you’ve done that enough.” – K
    • He chuckles.
    • “Nooo… Vex, you’ve brought such interesting people into our abode!” – R
      • “Yes– yes… um. This is your abode?” – V
    • “Well... I am letting all of you keep it warm.” – R
      • The Commander snorts at this. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, Radavon.”
    • The vampire cocks a wry smile in Angel's direction.
      • “Mortals… they don’t see the bigger picture.” – R
    • “But, come now, the more the merrier! I’m sure you all have such interesting blood types.” – R
      • Bee says her blood is poison, and to not try it. Radavon is quite immortal so this isn’t a problem. She says it is gross.
    • “Sooo… a jaunt around the place… and if it isn’t The Maiden I see!” – R
      • He stalks closer to Andreas and The Maiden.
      • Andreas takes a more defensive position.
    • “Aww… fear? Nooo... I just wanted to see my jailer!” – R
      • “Not fear from her. From you! I assure you, we’re on the same side. I am going to be on my best behavior.” – R
    • “Don’t mind him, he is just a pest. Don’t make me put you back in the prison.” – MA
      • “Ahh no way, you wouldn’t do that?” – R
    • [NOW PLAYING: SHADOW OVER WIDOWSTONE]
    • Bee shuffles over to Radavon. She asks what he is eating.
      • “A great deal of donated blood, but it is not enough to usually supply. Don’t worry, Koilos has helped supply the rest.” – R
        • Radavon flashes a smile.
      • “Ok… being hungry sucks” – B
      • “ It does! Hunger is such a detestable thing. I suppose it is what now we both fight against. Hunger. The hunger of ourselves, and of course, the hunger of our enemies. Isn’t that right, Bee?” – R
        • Bee does not like this.
      • “You wear red like that other weird guy.” – B
      • “Ahh, yes. Sin. Another detestable individual. Do you know much of him?” – R
      • “Mm… no… I mean, a little, but I’m not very old, so I don’t know a lot.” – B
      • “Well, I am very. And perhaps, at some point, we can exchange stories, knowledge. Tales.” – R
      • “…Only if you’re cool.” – B
      • “I do not know if the current standards of cool have changed. I was in Kovorov for a long time. Perhaps the frost is still within my bones.” – R
        • “And we’ll have to test just how poisonous your blood is.” – R
  • Bee returns to Claudia and Ki. She promises they will protect Claudia from Radavon.
    • “He is… the sire of sires. The one who made us. If he gives an order, I cannot refuse it. I fought with him. He’ll probably say everything we did at some point.” – C
      • “You can’t possibly think that we would judge you, not after everything we’ve been through..?” – B
    • “Rarely do people look upon things like us with such… understanding.” – C
    • Bee and Ki say they would be there for her. And Ari too, probably. Claudia smiles and grips their hands.
  • Heading into the Keep, there is a prison where Radavon stays under lock and key. There is an area that could be used for the races, the training grounds, and a temple with dedications to many, many Gods. There is also a large interior mansion, maybe officers quarters, that the Archfey shuffle us into. Aether Souls kept in one place. Everyone has a 200sqft room, and a bed to make their own. The Commander leads us around… Seth and Storm. You two notice Zetian stop and stare at a building. He looks back at all of you, and flashes a wicked smile.
    • “Ah! It seems like the tortoise has in fact beaten the hare!” – ZE
    • Zetian makes their way into The Sanctum.
      • Seth and Storm follow.
    • Andreas asks what it is.
      • “Inside it is almost a shrine, below is a rock placed there by Elethrindil themself. Same one who built this fortress.” – ZE
    • “Can Zetian do anything that could potentially blow anything up in there?” – A
      • “They are an Archfey… best to go keep watch on ‘em.” – MA
    • Bee gives a look to Andreas to make sure The Maiden is okay, and then heads down into the Sanctum. She wants to click around in there.
    • Everyone heads over to The Sanctum, even Vex, who just wants to see the big rocks.
  • [NOW PLAYING: A PRISON BUILT OUT OF LIES]
    • The inside slopes down, 50-100 feet. The stone on the sides is old, weathered, chiseled into the rock of this place. As you go down, the top of the ceiling is lit with bioluminescent moss. It gives off a dull, green glow. All of you progress and make your way down. The chamber is circular with a vaulted ceiling, the moss gives the luminance of day. On a small, carved, stone platform, there is a stone standing 7-8 feet tall. It seems to be basic slate, but there are crystal protrusions of some type of refined quartz. Zetian is standing before the stone.
      • “Well! Of all the wonders of nature. Here we are! At the place– the rock? Hmhmhhm. This isn’t a rock. This is an idea. A test and an answer, all in one. It is belief. It is protection. It is genius. Perhaps one of the greatest tricks ever created, ever played. Do you feel it?” – ZE
        • All of you take a moment. It is a bit warmer down here. Zetian seems almost… euphoric.
      • “We have made it.” – ZE
    • Zetian pulls out a small chest from a pocket, wrapped in three chains. One of iron, one of tin, one of platinum. Slowly, Zetian begins to undo each of the chains. And then… Click. The box is opened. All of you feel the flooding of magic, as Zetian pulls out a Scroll of Meropis. Zey, you feel the magic in the air radiating out over your skin. It is greater than anything you have ever sensed. You have been around Archfey, Blossomed, Titans, Titan vessels. The magic within here… It might be greater than all of them.
    • Zetian unfurls it, and points the Scroll at the stone.
    • “I seek entrance to the sanctum of Elethrindil, by Order of Meropis.” – ZE
  • The stone rips in two, torn asunder. As it does so, it reveals a passageway. A door. Light comes streaming through it. Zetian, giddy, begins to run inside.
  • Everyone rushes in. Seth asks the Spirit, it urges him forward.
  • Inside, Zetian is on his knees. In this moment, as all of you rush in, you felt the magic of a Scroll of Meropis. This is a hundred, no, a thousand times greater.
    • [NOW PLAYING: THE PRIMORDIAL TREE]
  • You see a tree, with a mass of orange leaves spreading outward in the center of the chamber. An iridescent glow from within mingles with the leaves. You feel the soothing energy radiating out of this being, the thundering of magic within like a heartbeat tapped into the heart of the Ring. Zetian smiles.
    • “At last… Friends. Behold, one and all. The Tree of Alteration. Source of all Primordial Magic.” – ZE
    • It sways back and forth with a breeze that is not here. But it is alive. Thundering with power, energy, hope.
    • Vex, you feel with every intake of breath your body surging with Primordial Magic. In magic, out magic, your fingertips vibrating. This is it. Its energy was out here but… Somehow Elethrindil hid it. Hid it at Widowstone. And, Zetian stands up, and looks back to all of you.
    • “I promised hope. A promise that thus I have kept.” – ZE
    • Andreas stands, mouth agape. Bee asks if this is what magic feels like.
    • “This is magic in its purest form. Pure. Connected.” – ZE
    • Lavatera takes in a sharp breath.
    • “If they get this! Oh, Gods…” – L
      • “Oh yes, quite! If they take the tree, they take the Ring. They take the magic. Quite the predicament we all fall into. I use We, not just the Brigade. All, from the spiders to the deer to the rocks to the water on this Ring and all others. Dimensions everywhere. Ahh…” – Z
    • “So we can’t lose.” – A
      • “We simply just won’t let that happen.” – V
        • “That is correct. Simply do not lose, it is our strategy. Our plan. We are to Endure. We are to safeguard this. Yes. That is our duty.” – ZE
  • At this point… Angel, you begin to look beyond the tree. On the opposite side of the room, there is a door?
    • [NOW PLAYING: EYE FOR DETAILS]
    • It is a smooth, green door, made of an unknown metal. No handles, no locks, no features. A silent observer, standing on the opposite side of the Tree. Out of place, yet, completely, perfectly still.
    • Angel points this out to Zetian.
      • “Yes, well, hrm. It is the entrance to the true sanctum of Elethrindil if I had to put a gander on the goose. Closed off, yes. Within… Solandis. At least… that is the hope, the dream of dreams.” – ZE
    • “How… do we want to open it?” – K
      • “Hm! What a confusing question. What’s the problem with changing the world? Don’t be afraid, don’t be shy, we’ve been pondering it as we’ve been going. Adventuring, seeing all this Ring now has to offer.” – ZE
    • “People aren’t willing to accept it?” – ZEY
      • “No, completely wrong!” – ZE
    • “Change can destroy as well? Create something new?” – (I Forgor)
      • “Completely far away, you are not on Vex’s level.” – ZE
    • “You see, friends, the world does not want to be changed. It is like a pig in shit, just rolling around and horking and honking, just having a grand ol time. But what if the world were bribed like a corrupt Zell official you snuck booze so they would allow you to strap wings to your horse. What if you did THAT to the world? Come now, think about it, what if you could make the world… Want. To change. There is a flower that allows people to change the world. It is called the Solandis Flower. Now, if you’ve heard about it– some once thought it was a myth like leprechauns, a square circle, or Lavateras heart–[SLAP]-- I probably deserved that. But the Solandis flower, I was able to do research, and I was able to find the truth. The flower that blooms on this tree, the Tree of Alteration. They are Solandis flowers. But this tree is not in Bloom. The original is not in Bloom. Elethrindil did something far below. We must follow the roots, we must see what the sanctum is. What has been built, what has been hidden. So… we must journey below. Down. Down, far below. And fix the problem, so that our beautiful tree blooms ever more. So yes, we want to open the door. There is just the tiniest of problems though… I haven’t a clue how to actually do that, at least not right now. I had hoped to be able to do it– I know, Doaa one of those people had come across a clue. I was searching there, trying to find the clue.” – ZE
      • NOW PLAYING: DEGENERATIVE HEARTS IN FOUL AIR
    • “Nothing was found. So now we do not have the clue. So we will have to open the door the hard way.” – ZE
      • “I think… I might be able to open it? Not in the traditional sense, but I can create an opening?” – K
  • Vex goes over, presses her hands into the dirt, and tries to reach toward a fungal network. There does not appear to be one.
  • “We just need to survive the battle and then… tree! Perhaps a tree. Open the tree, open the door, get its secrets, have it bloom, once we get the flower, well that is when phase one begins. It’s okay, we will make it out of phase zero eventually.” – ZE
  • Bee clicks around and doesn’t hear anything else. Just the tree. The door blends in with the back of the wall.
  • Bee is one of the last to meander out, pressing her head to the ground and thinking about Mr. Reymas. She receives a hero point for this.
  • The Commander heads out to begin opening up the Recovery.
    • With 10 players present, we receive 50 recovery.
