Flesh Hungers Once Again

Historian: Shannon. Date: 07/28/2025. Season Finale.

TLDR – The party pops back into the Farmer’s Temple and most of the totems they had collected immediately explode. Morgen is taken by a servant of Granny Cracklebones, and the Cosmic is badly hurt by taking on the cursed energy from the totems. He explains that he’ll likely die, and he has different plans to power the machine and get a big win against Cracklebones. He explains how he met Astranna’s mother, why he couldn’t be there for her, and he also explains a little bit about who and what he is. He also reveals more about Henrietta, Gibbit, Tol Ganneth, the Necromancer, and the Skybound Lands itself. Cracklebones sends more of her army after us, so we prepare and fend them off until we can construct more totems to power the machine. We do so, and the result involves a desecrated cursed army and a resurrected prince known as Jubilex.

Anna gave the recap of last session.
We pop into the Farmer’s Temple seeing Stargazer covered in cuts. He was fighting Granny Cracklebones’s forces while we were away.
Morgen is in there as well, right where we had left her.
He immediately tells everyone except Jericho to link hands, which causes vibrations we can all feel. These vibrations are coming from the totems, which were about to explode with cursed energy.
The Cosmic tells us that this future was unfortunate, and while our hands our linked constellations appear on our skin. Magical lightning bursts from us that Jericho dodges.
We are all unharmed, but The Cosmic screamed and was flung back by additional explosions coming off of us.
In the middle of this pandemonium, a mouse person appeared next to Morgen, winked at Anja (who was looking at them), opened a portal in front of us, and dropped a letter for us before going through the portal with Morgen.
- “Cracklebones sends her regards.”
After the explosions finished, Jericho and Alphie took a badly hurt Cosmic to a bedroom while the rest of us gathered medical supplies.
Anja brews a potion that makes sure everything heals well, but not fast.
Gwyn read the letter left for us.
- “I mistook you for pathetic heroes, and for that I do apologize as I clearly underestimated you. From one evil to another, I must say I’m impressed with this masquerade of yours. So thorough in your lies you’ve fooled even yourselves. So awaken, my fellows, and embrace your newfound gifts to the fullest. Dance, spin, and become drunk on the ecstasy that is power. Do not worry about the Cosmic devil that is your partner and let yourself sink into that starry abyss. The view is lovely down there, I’ll make sure to greet you upon your arrival. With love and always ready to make a deal, Granny Cracklebones. P. S. Since you’ve killed her mind and tossed her aside like garbage, I’ve taken it upon myself to save my dear friend Morgen. I’ll ensure she and the very land itself become suffused with my curses. I would love to see you bomb it all away by your own hand.”
The Cosmic told us that he thought her plan was to kill us with the cursed energy in the totems.
Alphie suggested trying to dissipate some of the cursed magic the Cosmic soaked up, and he said it’s a long shot that lowered the likely success of other plans.
He suggested other plans, like giving us what training he could and having us run, or combining all of our abilities to create more totems to power the machine.
We floated the idea of using the Gibbit to power things if things went bad, and Anja worked on creating a numbing potion for him in that case.
Everyone went to bed except Astranna and the Cosmic.
Astranna asked what the cosmic was, and he said he was once the hand of the Titanic king back before the Titanic Wars.
He said everything collapsed, and he is no longer mortal or immortal, but a watcher.
He said that he met her mother in Arket, they both got into trouble, and he helped her out of Arket and to Geldorph.
He says the Skybound Lands are a place where one can start anew. He wanted to start anew.
He said there were too many futures where if he went back to her and her mother it would end in death, so he stayed away.
Henrietta is one of the four forces from the Skybound Lands, she’s an aspect of the Gibbet and Tol Ganneth.
He asked Astranna if she ever questioned what happens when a god dies.
He said there used to be hundreds of High Gods, many of them died. They were slain by his king, Titans, and Aether Eaters.
High Gods are constant, representations of universal concepts. When they die, they fracture into new things.
The Skybound Lands is an aspect of a powerful being whose name was lost to the annuls.
There are four beings, one of creation, consumption, cultivation, and corpses. Gibbit, Tol Ganneth, Henrietta, and the Necromancer. They are different forces.
Astranna asked if Henrietta being with her upset the Skybound Lands, but the Lands were already upset. He said that the Skybound Lands isn’t supposed to exist so it’s always upset.
The Cosmic admitted that Henrietta coming back linked us to the Gibbet, unleashing the Gibbit linked us to Tol Ganneth, we gave Tol Ganneth away, and it being unleashed bid the rise of the Necromancer.
Henrietta was also the reason why Astranna got whisked up with Gwyn and the others to begin with, and had Astranna spill her blood as soon as she got here so that Astranna would be tied to the lands.
Henrietta wishes to stay in the Skybound Lands, and has taken an interest in Astranna.
Henrietta is also why Anja and Jericho got whisked up too, most likely it involves a plan where she’s trying to hatch and she needs us to do it.
One of the screens flash and shows a warning signal, saying that Cracklebones’s forces are coming. There are 20 times the numbers as last time.
Anja fed Maple, created a Sweet Dreams potion, and used her cursed energy to help create new totems.
Gwyn builds the totems, Alphie extracts more cursed energies from Anja.
Jericho tries to figure out how to best use the Scrimbimbolos.
He settles on murderbots go, sending all the scrimbimbos out at 7pm.
Anja brews another potion.
As we are working, the cursed beings have appeared. There are 6 or 7 hundred of them.
Anja gives the potion to the Gibbit, and she puts him into the machine.
Gwyn then goes to turn on the machine, powering up the defenses.
Jericho sends all the murderbots forward.
They are absorbed by her forces. Turrets begin to manifest, and we go to a lift to go and hold them off.
We hold off the cursed horde for a bit, and then we run back to the Lab after we do that.
Alphie keeps the machine cold as the floor downstairs is electrified.
Gwyn managed the machine.
Anja manipulated the cursed energy so that it powered the machine.
Jericho barricades the door to make sure nothing gets in.
Astranna and Stargazer guide the power together.
Reality starts to change, the air thickens, and the machine works.
A blast of pure cursed energy flowed from Stargazer into the machine.
The Breezestone in Gwyn awakens.
The entirety of Cracklebones’s army is reduced to cursed energy and it feeds the machine.
- “This is what I’ve been waiting for.”
In the center of the room, we see a large mass where the Gibbit used to be.
- “This world is new.”
It is Jubilex. God fucking damn it.
