Burrowing City of Toetonklin[edit | edit source]
Covered in a magically reinforced glass dome, the city of Toetonklin burrows underneath the Prime Ring. Many never know that the massive machine moves beneath their feet. However, the nations of the world keep a close eye on Toetonklin despite its pacifist politics. If ever there was a city that could cause havoc across the Prime Ring, it would be Toetonklin.
Always Moving[edit | edit source]
Toetonklin sends out vibrations that resonate with the soil or rock around it. This turns the surrounding earth into a semi-liquid form. Then, powerful drills around Toetonklin clear away the ground and expel it using gargantuan pumps which fill the hole the city leaves in its wake. Using this method, Toetonklin can cover on average ten miles a day underground.
Secret Origins[edit | edit source]
Although the leadership of Toetonklin claims that their ancestors built Toetonklin, this is untrue. Their ancestors discovered a Vindicar vault which housed the incredible digging city. After harvesting the sleeping Vindicar for parts, the founders of Toetonklin figured out how to pilot the city and have been traveling beneath the Prime Ring ever since.
Harvesting of Ore[edit | edit source]
The job of many citizens is ore harvesting. While pumping out excess dirt, it is the job of hundreds to sift through the rock and dirt to find ores. Over decades many workers develop a remarkable skill for finding and snatching ore out of the moving conveyor belt. Scientists in the Talador Research Facility in Flovios have found that a person from Toetonklin’s reaction time is eighty-three percent faster than the average humanoid.
Growing Fields of Zadem[edit | edit source]
While Toetonklin does trade for food, it would be far too expensive to buy food alone. Instead the city has hollowed out large caverns underneath Western Bospora. There they grow mushrooms in a region that Toetonklin causes Zadem.
War with the Drow[edit | edit source]
Despite being generally peaceful, Toetonklin’s constant burrowing underneath the soil has led to them coming into conflict with the Drow societies. While skirmishes are usually infrequent, it is important to recognize that despite Toetonklin’s best efforts, they do have enemies willing to attack on sight.
